Summary
Peanut Hamper is ordered to serve out her probation in Professor Data and Doctor Agnes Jurati's lab at the Daystrom Institute, a refuge for troubled exocomps. The events she sets in motion lead Data, Jurati, and the crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos into the dark heart of an exocomp colony planet long neglected by the Federation, and into conflict with Peanut Hamper's father, the colony's eccentric ruler.
