They stood, watching the rain. Sakusa’s hand lingered. The warmth of his touch seeped through the fabric of Ushijima’s clothes, through the cool of the night.
“I bought pickled plums from the convenience store,” Ushijima said.
Sakusa smiled. He lowered his head, tucking it to himself. When they go back home, Ushijima thought, they would share a bed. They’d washed and dried the sheets yesterday. They would be clean and warm.

They’re at a rooftop bar, overlooking the hills and mountains of Soho’s skyline, and Kunimi is leaning on the railing with a cocktail in his hand. A pool sits in the middle of the roof, and the light reflects off of it and casts angelic blue onto the angles of Kunimi’s jaw, his cheekbone, a halo of dancing water. As if Kunimi will sprout wings and take flight, leaving Kageyama stranded on a peak, watching him soar away quietly and with lament.
