Summary
“Who told you we were friends?” Kleyce says.
Reina’s smile falters slightly, doubt whispering in her mind.
Then, she pushes it back up. And leans in. “Would you rather be girlfriends?”--
Reina spends an entire evening flirting with and overthinking her value to her newfound not-friend. She panics, because she hates a world where Kleyce thinks of her as useless and leaves her behind, but keeping her position and society's respect is contingent on the fact that she doesn't help Kleyce.
