Summary
Buccellati's grip in his pockets tightens. They stare at each other, patiently, waiting. The blue of Buccellati's eyes is striking, as clear as the cloudless sky on a sunny morning. Yet, there is an sharp edge to them. It reminds Abbacchio of shards of shattered glass. "I'm not scared of hurting you", Buccellati states, his voice hard and cold. Abbacchio believes him in a heartbeat.
Their eyes meet. The tiniest hint of a smile creeps onto Buccellati's face and they draw, the first bullet cutting through the air.
