Summary
When Miorine meets her soulmate, the world ends.
People might say she’s being dramatic and for the most part she is, but she isn’t lying either. The world doesn’t end the way you think it does. They aren’t engulfed in flames, the walls don’t come tearing down and flooding the room with water. Nothing changes tangibly, visibly. To Miorine, however, there is a definitive shift in the universe. Everything feels off and different, forever changed by a single encounter. The air doesn’t feel the same, people are speaking with a hardly-noticeable-but-still-noticeable lilt in their voice and things are placed oddly around her like someone moved every piece of furniture five centimeters to the left.
So maybe it’s more reasonable to say that the world ends, but only to Miorine.

Summary
“It’ll take much more than me to like, break you, you know.” Shauna says, and she doesn’t know why she says it. Maybe it’s to reassure, to take some of the blame away from herself, to say, I can hurt you because you can take it, you always do. without actually saying it. “You’re stronger than that.”
A bitter, humorless laugh escapes Jackie’s lips and Shauna reacts to it like shattered glass, zipping straight through Shauna’s ribs and right into her lungs until each breath needs considerable effort to take. She crosses her arms as if to keep her heart from falling off her chest but there are tears in Jackie's eyes now and it’s no use, Shauna’s heart slips. “You know me so well, Shauna.” Her words are laced heavily with sarcasm, poison dripping like honey from her lips.
“Maybe I don’t,” Shauna says, and it sounds an awful lot like defeat. “Maybe you don’t.”
“Yeah,” Jackie acquiesces, and Shauna feels it reverberate around the hollowness in her chest where her heart is supposed to be. “Maybe we don’t."

Jackie and Shauna are in love with each other except it isn’t that simple.
