Taehyung rolls his lips together nervously. “I feel like who I was before is starting to be burned away. What I’ve seen, what I’ve had to do - everything in this war just… consumes you.”
“Well, hey,” Jeongguk murmurs as Taehyung’s voice begins to waver. His voice is soft, gentle like the touch of his palm on Taehyung’s cheek. He smiles, only small, because he understands, but it’s enough. “We aren’t ashes yet.”
