Namor set his cigar aside and rounded the desk, stepping into the space between her and it. Slowly he sunk down, till his head was level with her stomach, and he balanced on the balls of his feet. Shuri couldn’t help thinking of the umsila obomvu snakes her mother kept in their garden. The way they’d arch up to stare whenever she entered, heads swiveling to track her movements. Always watching but never a danger unless she got too close. He tilted his head up and she licked her lips, watching his dark gaze follow her tongue’s retreat. She gathered her courage.
“What do you want?”
