Jake stills, his face unreadable when he looks at Sunghoon, brows pulled together and mouth twisted in a frown. “Um,” he stammers, before he shakes his head. “I don’t think so,” he says and Sunghoon head spins. "But it was nice, uh, seeing you.”
“What do you mean?” Sunghoon asks. “Are you leaving town or something? Going to NY in hopes of making it big with the band? Because maybe we could still—”
“No, Sunghoon,” Jake gives Sunghoon a pitiful look, “I just don’t feel like seeing you anymore for some reason.”

When Jeno is pushing Donghyuck into bed a few nights later, buzzed from his few shots at the pub they met up at, he pulls away to shuck off his own shirt and ask, “I thought you were just visiting, whose house is this?”
Donghyuck pulls him back down for a moment to lick into his mouth sweetly before answering. “I grew up in Paris, this is my place.”
Jeno doesn’t say anything after that, not really, he’s too busy with the handfuls of Donghyuck in his lap and the warm honey feeling in his stomach.
It’s a little offbeat the way Donghyuck falls that night, for a fucking Australian boyband member.

Summary
Reo had thought about dating just about everyone after he and Seishirou split—after Seishirou left him. He’d wondered if, had he dated Yukimiya, things would have turned out differently or if he still would not have been enough? Had he fallen into a relationship with a different classmate then, with a random coworker now, with any passerby on the street—would he still have been left behind, like an unwanted pet?
The only answer he’s managed to stumble upon is yes. Inevitably, there is always someone better waiting on the other side, dragging his partner away from him. Yukimiya has Itsuka; a coworker has their old flame; Seishirou has Isagi.
“Does it matter?” Reo says. “I don’t think it would've been a good idea, either.”

As it stands, they’ve barely even trained. Whatever parts of Reo that had softened during the past few days have hardened again, his face set in a permanent scowl the entire time spent on the field. It was that or crying, Rensuke guessed, based on the way Reo’s eyes shone under the lights, the way he clenched his jaw, the way his lips faltered unsteadily with every word he said.
