Summary
Ike came to Gallia at the end of summer, during the days when the sunsets painted everything a vibrant red gold. He was as handsome as the last time Ranulf had seen him, leaving the Tower of Guidance, a champion with flinty eyes and broad shoulders, his head held high in spite of everything he’d seen. He had always cut an impressive figure, like a hero from a storybook. Beorc or laguz, it made no difference. Ike had always stood apart.
He did not come alone. There was Titania, with her vibrant red hair, and Mist, standing by her brother’s side.
Soren, as always, was right beside Ike.

War is a simple thing. What comes after, that is hard.
Ike comes to Gallia in the months before Skrimir's ascension to set the past in order. Ranulf, struggling in wake of the war, looks for an escape. And Skrimir escorts Soren to the library.

“This is an inane discussion,” Soren said. “I’m coming with you, and that’s final.”
He took a step forward and swayed.
If Ike reached out and shoved with one finger, he was sure he could topple Soren right over. He kept his arms folded so he wouldn’t be tempted to try and make a point.
“I’m still your commander, aren’t I?” Ike asked, raising his eyebrows. “You still trust me to make decisions?”
“Yes, but, Ike –” he said.
“Then you’ll do as I say, for the good of the company,” Ike said. “I won’t risk you. You’re too important.”
He stepped close, adjusting the hood of Soren’s cloak. He lowered his voice so he wouldn’t be heard by Shinon and Gatrie, waiting up by the gate.
“Go back to bed,” he said, his voice gentler. “I’ll be home soon.”

Post-Path of Radiance, Ike and Soren share a promise, a first kiss, and a bed. Not in that order.
