A short prequel inspired by my lack of inspiration for Beyond the Blazes lately.

Bookmarker's Notes
i'm tired of having to go through my reading history to find this, so i'm bookmarking here to find it easier :) and as for elaborate praise, i'll be giving this book the praise it deserves!
i found this book back in September of 2019, and i think reading this book was the best choice i'd ever make. i'll be honest, i was at first skeptical cause i've always been a picky reader, so i skimmed over it at first, barely reading it, but the more i read in small sections, the more interested i got.
i reread it, slowly this time, taking my time to read it through fully, and i was absolutely hooked T_T!! so obviously after reaching my last chapter over the course of maybe a few days, i subscribed to follow up on this story :D the characters were all likable, the plot was going down quite the riveting and engrossing route, and so i couldn't wait for more. i got distracted multiple times because of my life outside of Ao3, but it never stopped me from reading every chapter from start-to-finish.
i loved all the pairings, but i especially loved Mike and Simon's relationship. my second favorite being Jeremy and Mari's! the dynamics in both of these relationships were so hooking tbh, i never found myself bored with this book or their relationships. and might i mention the OC's? good god i love Nemo ;_; not to forget Juliette either! Nemo, Juliette, Alice, all these OC's just worked so well with this book, they're all so very loveable that i felt devastated when [ SPOILERS❗❗ ] both Nemo and Juliette left together D;
plus the way Lucario writes is like something you can wait for religiously :o their writing is otherworldly, they hook you in just right, and leave you wanting more! when the book finished, i almost didn't believe my eyes - i was definitely shocked to see the book finished in all it's glory, i almost thought Ao3 was glitching again! until i realized, unfortunately, it wasn't :OO!!
the chapters were always so long that it definitely left you reading for a few minutes more, but it wasn't ever annoying!! it was actually more enjoyable that way tbf :DD it just shows all the hard work they put into this fic, all blood sweat and tears here babeyyy
they poured a lot of time and love into this fic and all of it's chapters and it turned out beautifully, the book wrapped up so nicely, evenly and neat that even though i was sad that it had all ended, i still felt satisfied getting to know it over these past three years, cause tbh, i have no clue what i'd be doing without it ^^; it's all i ever write for or think about lololthis book always got me through hard times in my life, from the start, when i was pretty much homeless at the time, to the now where i might finally be getting back into a home again!!
this book helped me get through writer's block as it always shared a source of inspiration for me, which is why most of the books on my profile are gifts for Lucario lolol - or it's the book INSPIRED by Lucario, Beyond the Blazes ;D
Lucario was the first to ever actually inspire me to write an ongoing book, as i'd always struggled to do so because i never really found the will. but watching their book over the course of three years and reading the end notes, even running around on their blog a little to find more content helped me find a few posts, where they basically just said to whoever asked for writing tips to just write what they would wanna read :)) that was probably one of the first times i ever started to consider that lmao, i only ever wrote for others ;_;Lucario helped me be more confident with all my writing, and i certainly got better at it, finally deciding to take tips and force myself to do that space thing before everything i say even though i hate it 💀 but i noticed it made my writing sm better and i actually really love to see it, because it's something both i and the reader like to see!! sort of a compromise :)
i'm running out of characters to leave onto this bookmark, and tbh even though i have way more praise for this book to receive, i don't think Ao3 will allow that -__-; Ao3 are cowardsss i have way more to say than this
in short, the characters, the writing, the plot twists and plot itself, the chapters and their length, they all formed such a stunning work of art in the end. truly a masterpiece that Ao3 is lucky to even HAVE on here, i'm pretty sure the world would end without this fic on any site like Ao3 or Wattpad- just imagine cats and dogs raining down from the sky. BOOM. there's your vision of the world without any of Lucario's fics :D
the book, all-in-all, is my favorite book of all time. it's the best one i've ever read and the probably the one i've cried over, laughed over, or simply enjoyed the most. i'm eternally grateful. infinite kudos to Lucario, the best author ever \( ^o^ )/
