    Nishinoya had cried after he’d ran out of the gym closet at the beginning of all of this: silent, angry tears as he hid behind the club room stairs, pulled his knees up to his chest, and dug his fingernails into his skin. He’d cried again as he walked home from school, just as angry, after somehow holding himself together as he’d watched Asahi turn away from him in the hallway, and as he’d sat in the vice principal’s office.
    And now he was crying again - not out of anger this time, even though it burned his eyes and choked up his throat just the same. He wasn’t quite sure what it was this time, actually, but he let Asahi close the distance between them and pull him against his chest.
