Mike has been going to college for a few months now and has spent most of those weeks ignoring his friends desperate attempts to hang out again - as he had not been truly responsive since the start of summer, when they had all played one last game together.
But with the unexpected invite from one of his friends to an event, the realisation that perhaps it's time for him to finally get out of his own head dawn's upon him.
Who knows where this could lead?or
Mike Wheeler is a pathetic idiot but with some (lots) of encouragement from his best friend Leiah, he finally stops moping around and connects with his friends again, particularly Will.
(This is a slowburn project with multiple relationships happening during the same time frame as Mike and Will's dynamic evolves, and it will involve many new original characters so you've all been warned lol)

Summary
Will Byers has lived in California with his older brother Jonathan and his dad Lonnie since he was born. He has two close friends - Dean Stevens and Maxine Mayfield - and is more than content with his simple life. But when his dad grows paranoid at the growing number of missing children’s cases in California, he and his brother get shipped off to live in a small town in Indiana with his mother he hasn’t seen since he was a baby. While living there he meets new friends, makes new memories and tries to figure out along the way who he is.

Summary
Mike Wheeler always had a special connection with Will Byers.
After Eleven’s death and the destruction of the Upside Down, the party had to reconstruct themselves and learn to live a « normal » life again.
However, something have felt wrong with Mike since they got back from California, even thought he can’t exactly say what. He and Will have bonded over the 18 months since the battle. The major cause ? They both still have nightmares, and they spend nights over nights talking on their talkies to confort each other, which leaves Mike with feelings he can’t quite understand.

Right after their last campaign together, when Mike has a panic attack and Will finds him, things come out in the day, and leads in a fight. They thought their relationship wouldn’t be the same anymore, until a weather episode forces Will to stay the night in Mike’s bedroom, where secrets don’t have their place.
