Sirius looks at him while he begs for the last time.
- Reggie… - he says, pressing his hands to his ribs. He's bleeding from so many different places Regulus doesn’t know where to look, because he can’t stand to look him in the eyes either. - Please. Look at me, please.
He can hear the pain in his voice, but he’s not crying. Not yet. Sirius never cries, not in front of him. He’s spent too long being strong for the both of them.
In a fraction of a second, while Walburga continues to undo the protection spells Regulus threw so she can get inside and kill Sirius, he decides he can be strong too.
Regulus goes with him.
