Summary
Whenever Jason wasn’t at school or practice, you would always find him in his room. He spent all of his time there, only emerging for meal times or the occasional family outing. It’s not like the rest of the house was awful—he lived in a nice home with quality furniture and pleasant decorations. Still, he preferred the comfort of his messy, crowded room.
He’d been like this for as long as he could remember. In elementary school, his household felt like a constant performance, with everyone born into a role they never wanted to play. His mom was the perfect housewife, his father the loving breadwinner. He played the perfect child, excelling both academically and socially and thriving off of the extremely minimal affection his parents provided. His room was his peek backstage, the one place where he could escape the role he was forced into.
Two years later, Whizzer moved back into his father’s, and suddenly everything was different. For the first time in his life, Jason found himself wanting to be in the living room.---
Jason preferred the solitude and safety of his room more than any other room in the house. That changed when Whizzer moved in.
