* * *The armrests rattle as Flint tugs yet again to no avail, the nylon ropes looped snugly over the sleeves of his sweater. There’s little chance he’ll be able to break free with strength alone. The rope has some give, his forearms sliding against the smooth timber, but it’s not enough to slip his bindings. That doesn’t stop him from trying, of course.
After all, the man watching him seems to be enjoying Flint’s struggle.
