TK is content with his life. He’s an experienced EMT with a good group of friends, but when a new doctor shows up in the emergency room, TK starts to think about what he’s been missing.
Through sharing patients, relieving stress after shifts, and leaning on each other on the particularly hard days, TK and Carlos find themselves freefalling into something new, which might be the biggest lifesaver of all.

He’d been depressed, filled with an anxiety he didn’t think he’d ever be able to shake, lonely as hell, and getting through the next hour felt impossible, let alone the next year.

Summary
As TK and Carlos embrace parenthood together, moving into a new house coincides with the second anniversary of Gabriel’s death, and both Carlos and Jonah are struggling with their sleep. But there’s another second anniversary coming up – and one sleepless night, Carlos finds inspiration through Jonah for how to celebrate two years married to TK.
Carlos stands still, shakes his head.
“Carlos?”
“I get it,” Carlos says, smiling as his eyes well with tears, silvery in the low winter sunlight. “I’m the one who needed to get it. It was me.”
“Get what?” TK looks at him quizzically. “Baby?”
Carlos lets out a breathy laugh, gazes back at him with wonder as a tear slips down his cheek.
“Baby–” TK brushes the tear away with his thumb and keeps his hand on Carlos’ cheek. “What did you need to get?”
Carlos takes a deep breath, leans into TK’s hand. “Where all this love comes from,” he says.
TK chuckles. “What do you mean?”

Summary
When Carlos gets injured at work, he’s out for longer than either of them would’ve expected, leading to long days in the loft and a growing pile of unaddressed feelings. While Carlos struggles with figuring out who he is when work is taken away from him, TK struggles with finding the balance between caretaker and husband.
