His soulmate deserves better than him. Whoever she—or he, as it turns out—may be.
He does something to piss them off in the first moments they meet, because their first words are scalding and pointed and Alex knows it’ll all be his fault because he tends to be a bit much and it’d make sense that his soulmate clocks that in that first introduction.
And, Alex? Alex has known from the very moment the mark appeared that he doesn’t want to meet them.
