Their history seemed to complicate a lot of things.
But he thought about Beomgyu—of toothy grins and shining eyes and hushed whispers of reassurance. Of teasing jabs and thoughtful just because gifts and guitar chords being strummed into the quiet of the night.
And he knew he’d always take complicated; if that meant having Beomgyu close to him.
He’d do his best to fix the complications, to make things easier for Beomgyu. He didn’t want to be part of any hurt he experienced, ever again.
To start—he knew he had to tell him the truth.
He just hoped he could find the words.

Smiling nervously, he hands over a box. Younger Beomgyu opens it and lifts a bouquet of colorful Lego flowers wrapped in green satin.
His mouth parts before he smiles gently, sets the box on the table, and throws himself into Yeonjun’s arms. Yeonjun’s hands slip under his own hoodie to grip Younger Beomgyu’s waist.
“You were happy.” The Spirit tells him as the pair kiss.
”Yes.” Beomgyu admits weakly. “I suppose I was.”
8 years after choosing an arranged marriage over love, Beomgyu has no interest in A Christmas Carol at his son’s school. When he declines, the Spirits of Christmas come to him instead. Do you think I haven’t been driving my own self crazy because I’m attached to someone who played the shit out of me? I block him, he finds a way back. Hell, he’d pop up at the company if he wanted to. He fucking knows where you live. I didn’t tell him that shit. I tell him to leave him alone, he doesn’t. I could fucking move apartments and he would find me. He’s fucking crazy. I’m trying to move on, trust me...I’m really trying, hyung. I don’t want to be so fucking whipped for him but he won’t let me go.”
