    I don’t think I even know how it feels to be human. What it feels like to... care. Really care.

    I was built not to feel. Conditioned out of it before I was old enough to understand what I was losing. And for a long time, it worked.

    Then… him.

    We were meant to be symbols: the Spartan and the Arbiter, two aging relics of a war. But something happened in the silence between us; it didn’t have a name in any of my mission parameters. It smashed every rule I was built to follow.
