“Hi! Yes, of course, thank you for coming to Denny’s, right this way please,” Euijoo says, smiling and leading the group to an open booth. As they file in, Euijoo’s gaze is snagged on one man in particular–jet black, messy mullet, sharp, tired eyes, and a narrow face. He’s glaring and he looks miserable and Euijoo is intimidated. Very intimidated. The others look alright–there’s a tall blonde boy, a smaller boy with brown hair and a very sweet smile, and another boy with what seems to be faded pink hair, sitting next to the Intimidating Beautiful Gorgeous Man.

There’s that illusion of choice–the word ‘if’ gave Nicholas a way out. But looking back, it wasn’t really a choice at all. It would be so much easier if things between them had never gone sour, if their friends could stop feeling like they’re walking on eggshells any time the two of them are brought up, if Euijoo’s heart doesn’t feel like it’s breaking all over again every time he looks at Nicholas. But nothing is ever easy when it comes to Nicholas––it’s one of the things that made Euijoo fall for him in the first place––and getting over him has proved to be the hardest.
