Summary
The Pacific War is over, and with nothing and no-one left back home in Louisiana for him to return to, Snafu Shelton struggles to find his place in the world now that he is no longer needed as a marine.
Alone and unable to adjust to normal life, Snaf sees no option other than to sign on again the next year, until he is thrown a life line by sweet and kind Rosa, a young girl he meets on his return from war.
