Summary
Shauna grabs her by the shoulders and pins her to the wall, forearm pressed tightly against her throat. “Keep Jackie’s name out of your whiny fucking mouth, Ibarra,” Shauna seethes, not seeing Mari so much as a ball of fire, a Mari-shaped glowing orb labeled “OPPONENT.” She digs her arm in deeper, going in for the kill. “You’re going to stop fucking pushing me, Mari, or you’re gonna find out what can happen when I’m pushed.”
Mari wheezes, eyes bulging, too-short nails clawing pathetically at Shauna’s skin. Shauna loosens her hold and Mari takes a gasping breath, looking at Shauna with something that… doesn’t quite seem like fear.

Apparently, everyone on the team had passed Jackie Taylor around as their first crush like a blunt.
Shauna's hands were curled into fists she didn’t remember making.

Summary
The Shauna who brings Jackie in from the cold isn’t the same one who sent her out.
She’s sharper, bolder, louder. She isn’t physically bigger but feels it, like she takes up more space than she did before. Her skin is more tanned, her hair is lighter, she has a few extra scars, and, most notably, she isn’t pregnant any more.
She shakes the half-frozen Jackie awake, and, instead of pulling her back to the cabin, she takes Jackie by the arm roughly, and pulls her up and off the log she’s sitting on and towards the tree line.
Jackie follows her into summer.
