No one said anything when Mikey began to isolate Takemichi from the world, slowly monopolising him until there was "no need for him to go out". He only needed to wait for Mikey like a good pet, he only needed to live for him alone.
Sanzu watched with a perverse fascination how slowly Takemichi's freedom was stripped from him, how Mikey began to take bits and pieces of his soul until there was nothing left that belonged to Takemichi.
Yet Takemichi kept smiling, seemingly unaware of the darkness he was falling into.

Oikawa asks, taunting the red head.
“How long has it been, Toshi? Eight months? I love him more and more each day”
Tendou professes as he squeezes Ushijima’s shoulders and locks eyes with Oikawa again.
Tendou loves joking around with his opponents before a volleyball match but-
“Tendou, I am so sorry.”
Ushijima simply says, and he sounds like he really means it.
Tendou is so confused. Why was Ushijima apologizing to him?
“I had no idea that the nature of our relationship was that of boyfriends and not best friends. I shall do my best to make the necessary adjustments to my behavior.”
Wait. Did Ushijima not know he was joking to Oikawa about them being boyfriends?

TLDR: Tendou makes a joke to Oikawa that he and Ushijima are dating and Ushijima actually thinks he is serious about it. This makes Ushijima realise a thing or two about their relationship and the adjustments he might want to make to said relationship.
