Summary
Oruggio watches, enraptured, as Qifrey positively glows at his words. And suddenly he feels like he’s the one on the verge of tears now. He feels like he’s stepped foot on sacred ground, has bowed his forehead before a temple that shines with all the brilliance of the moon and received its blessing.
I’m marrying him, Oruggio reaffirms to himself. From enduring friendship to the rest of forever with him. Anything else would be too bitter, too little.

Summary
He steps closer, mouth opening around a greeting but he falters when he takes a closer look at the man. Something doesn’t feel right. For one, Qifrey’s still not reacted to his presence at all, which in and of itself is worrying. Secondly, he doesn’t seem to be reacting to anything at all, as he gazes out the window and into the valleys with an expression Oruggio can only describe as lifeless.
(Or; Qifrey has a nightmare)

Summary
Coco still embodies all the violence of a past he barely remembers and all the hopeful radiance of a future he’s not sure he’s allowed to have. With Oruggio by her side in his stead, however, the possibility of that future seems to shine brighter, stronger. Oruggio isn’t the type to gamble with fate or waver in his loyalty. If he’s taken someone in as his own, he’ll see to it that he doesn’t lose them.
He’s too good, Qifrey huffs fondly to himself.
The singing stops as abruptly as it started.
