She clears her throat. “Now then. I came out here to play some music.” She speaks quickly, hastening her retreat from the topic. “Might I tempt you with a song?”
Halsin cannot keep himself from smiling broadly. “You can tempt me however you like,” he says, and delights in the particular shade of purple that spreads from her cheeks to the tips of her ears.

“If you want,” he says, and it’s his turn to get all affected as she cups the side of his face and runs the calloused pad of her thumb over his bottom lip, touches the tip of his fang gently, so fucking gently, in a way no one has before. In a way he’s never let anyone before.
Their eyes meet, hold, and he nips her. Not hard enough to break the skin, but he’s not sure if he means it as a warning or an invitation.
