In every way Perihelion could fathom it, pleasure was absolutely fascinating. As of late, the extent of its comprehension had increased by orders of magnitude. Perihelion knew that experience and context were critical aspects of true understanding. After all, there is a marked difference between knowing that in a wormhole there are ever-shifting, mysterious elements that waltz back and forth across a range of atomic weights; rising and falling in their unique cycle of fusion and decay. It is an altogether different level of knowing to feel, in the darkness of a not-quite-void, each occasional molecule swell and subside against your hull.
And, again, it is another thing entirely to be able to liken the experience to the bracing moment before one takes a sip of a cold, carbonated beverage. Which Perihelion knew, now, because it had finally met Dr. Gurathin.
