Summary
"I thought you hated me, Shinazugawa," Tomioka finished, curious, but still with a slight smile at one corner of his bright mouth.
Damn you, Sanemi cursed, realizing only now that Tomioka seemed perfectly aware of what was happening, perhaps even since they were dueling outside… since that stupid question at the bar. Sanemi shifted in his zabuton, not noticing that he had leaned even closer to Giyuu's face.
“And I hate you,” he replied sincerely. “But you’re driving me crazy.”
(or "In a stupid bar conversation, Sanemi discovers that Giyuu likes men, and this opens a hole in his mind that only one thing will fill")

Summary
Giyuu's anger wasn't enough to do anything with, not anymore. He'd burned himself out at such a young age. All that was left was ash.
Genya seemed like him. His anger was fear, a shield he used. It wasn't his core like his brother and the other hashira who had tried to help him.
Maybe, just maybe, that would be enough for Giyuu to make a difference where they hadn't.
Or: Genya becomes Giyuu's tsugoku. Sanemi does not approve.

Summary
“Oh, so you’re figuring it out,” he says softly, eyes darting between them with feverish delight. “And here I thought you would remain oblivious forever.”
“What the fuck are you talking about?!” Sanemi snaps, hand flying to the hilt of his sword “Make your words clear, old man. Or I’ll - “
“-cut me down?” The innkeeper finishes for him, grin stretching unnaturally wide. He leans forward, eyes glittering. “Why don’t you ask your buddy over there?”
He jerks his head toward Tomioka.
Sanemi turns. Tomioka’s back is still to them, his hands clenched so tightly that his knuckles are white. He doesn’t move, but the faint sound of dripping reaches Sanemi’s ears—blood, falling from Tomioka’s split palm and onto the floor. Pat. Pat. Pat.
--
Giyuu didn't think there could be anything worse than being paired up on a mission with Shinazugawa Sanemi. But when their mission takes them back to the place he grew up in, Giyuu realises there are demons far more dangerous than the ones they've come to hunt.

Summary
They thought the hardest part would be running.
It wasn’t.
It was learning what remains of a person when a name is taken, a vow turns into paperwork, and memory becomes collateral.
All Flins has left is a voice. All Varka has left is the way his body still turns when it’s called.Bookmarked by nvmin0vs

Summary
“I did not expect to see you work as the Starshyna’s messenger boy,” Varka said with a relaxed, almost all-knowing smile. “What happened to Illuga?”
“Nothing,” Flins said. “The Starshyna you might try to steal him away from the Ratniki. It is more appropriate if I come instead.”
Varka had to find something funny in Flins’s half-truth, laughing first and then tapping his chin pensively. “Is he not afraid of me trying to steal you away? I’ll say, it seems like his judgment isn’t as sharp as he’d want it to be.”
Varka was a very touch-oriented person. Always clapping shoulders, patting backs, or holding onto his friends’ arms when he laughed too hard. Flins wanted to feel that for himself.
But when he had it, it felt shallow. He missed the lingering touches, their feet playing under the table, their hands gravitating towards one another. He wanted Varka to hold him and never let go.
It was a lot to ask because Varka did not belong to the graveyard or to Nod-Krai. He belonged to his family back in Mondstadt, whom he had never spoken to Flins about.
Because for the first time, it was Flins who was temporary—not the other way around.
