Summary
As Youichi’s laughter slowly died on his tongue, he met Miuyiki’s eyes across from him, mirth still dancing in his golden iris. Still breathing hard, still smiling and laughing, Youichi gazed at Miyuki, deep – and all the while stuck in its surface – into his addicting opacity. Youichi wished he could see what was behind those eyes, past the coating, and encounter what ran through Miyuki’s mind that he didn’t dare vocalize. Miyuki looked right back at him, meeting his eyes and letting his own roam over Youichi’s joyful features.
Youichi smiled at him – happy, hesitant and so damn warm – and licked his lips.
Miyuki was the one to look away, rolling his body to the side and looking up at the ceiling, remnants of laughter clinging to his lips. Youichi watched him still, catching and saving the idiosyncrasies of a dashing profile, of flushed cheeks under the glasses’ frame, and of his little elated smile, way too pretty to fit into words. It lasted mere seconds though, because a moment later Miyuki rocked up and left the bed, taking with him all his beauty and all his laughter – that for a fleeting moment were at hands’ reach.
Youichi felt strangely rejected.
