Sirius pauses, pouts like he didn’t expect this response. There’s a flicker of something in his storm-grey eyes, gone so quickly that Remus can’t begin to guess what it might have been. “Oh, I’m so sorry, Mr Moony, for heroically coming to your defence in your hour of need—”
“The only reason I had an hour of need was because of you and your big mouth!”
Or: a confrontation with Snape in flying class leaves Remus in the hospital wing and Sirius serving detention—and brings some (not so) well-buried feelings to the surface again. No one said being a werewolf was easy.
