Summary
James and Regulus ran into each other by accident at the beginning of Regulus’s sixth year. Regulus had been trying to find somewhere to hide because he was crying. Barty always teased him about being sick all the time, and this time Evan hadn’t been around to make him apologize, so Regulus ran. When he was on the seventh-floor corridor, he had been reduced to sniffling and wiping his red eyes.
Where he’d run into James Potter, Quidditch captain of Gryffindor and Sirius’s best friend.
James hadn’t laughed at him like Regulus expected. Instead, he’d held Regulus while he cried, showed him the Room of Requirement, and eventually kissed him.
Regulus had been so surprised he stopped crying. Which he supposed was James’s intention.
Or: Regulus knows something is a little off with James, but he refuses to lose this relationship. James is... the best, if tardy sometimes. But it's fine. James would never do anything to hurt Regulus.

Regulus Black and James Potter were (surprisingly) an amazing matched couple. Unfortunately, they have broken up after coming back from holidays. Still, nobody knows why.

It's the last year for the Marauders in school and dangerous one for the Slytherin. Remus and Regulus are deciding they have had enough with two stupid Gryffindors and come up with an idea. They will pretend to be a couple so that at least some things are in the right place.
