“Uh… Manager bud? Something’s up with Meursault.” Gregor spoke up with a nervous chuckle.
Dante finally lifted their head and turned around and immediately saw the problem. Meursault stood with his usual stoicism yet sprouting from the sides of his head were a pair of bronze capped bull horns. Dante stared up at Meursault then let out a shocked train whistle.
“Faust believes that overuse of E.G.O combined with corrosion may have caused some lasting side effects.” Faust cryptically stated as she stared analytically at the horns sprouting from Meursault’s head. “Faust knows that the use of E.G.O would cause some physiological as well as psychological side effects. It is not unheard of.”
----In which Meursault gets some additional side effects from using Capote one too many times. Some side effects, however, needed to be handled privately. Luckily his partner Don Quixote is more than willing to help!

Horikawa glanced at her from the corner of his eye and his lips pressed into a tense line. “Lei Heng’s an important figure in the company. Him and his… subordinates. They’re dangerous.” At a red light, he grabbed her shoulder and forced her to look at him. “Promise me you won’t speak to them. I’m serious.”
She glanced at the hand on her shoulder then at Horikawa with a furrowed brow, as if silently scolding him for touching her like this. How dare he play the protective husband now? Years of their marriage, their relationship, fizzling to nothing where he left her at home with their daughter with no concern for their well-being. He would come home, give Ryoshu the most unsatisfying fuck, then pass out; only to wake up and go to work just to have it repeat all over again. She knew what she was to him and she only assumed he knew what he was to her.
Ryoshu shrugged off his hand and looked away again. “I.P.”

Summary
Warmth in their chest constricted further. It was a silly thought without shadow of doubt, the impulsive thought that'd sparked to mind catching them off guard. A vision of Vergilius, smiling at them, as if relieved to see them as well. His voice, low, murmuring, greeting them with his voice laced with something they could never dare to name yet would have left them tingling all over.
As if Vergilius would have missed them as well, as if Dante was something to care about, think about, in such a way. A thought that was asininely tender, filling them with an indecipherable itch, spreading heat across their body. Shamefully.
…Were they truly that easy?
