“Hope you’re enjoying yourself,” God remarked, in mock-offense.
“Broadly speaking, yeah, sure—”
John’s other heel was idly resting against the flesh of his upper thigh. He pressed it down further, just so, just for a second, then his eyes went wide with drunken hilarity.
“Oh shit. You actually are.”
or: John gets a foot massage. Augustine is way too into it.

Summary
Long after a disastrous fling between Victoria and Max, the two women find themselves drifting back towards each other. It's been seven years since Blackwell, but they find each other alone and struggling with their demons, new and old, and try to help each other again.
This time, they both hope they can do better.
The distant sequel to "Little Blue Pills." This will make more sense if that's read first. Chapter 7 of that work has been transitioned into this one for a more consistent experience contained to each story.

Summary
As she gazed unseeing out to the vista of black space around the Mithraeum, girdled as it was by asteroids and lit by the radiation of undead stars, she hesitated at the threshold of something new in the home of her mind, feeling it and not quite seeing it.
Fidelity! Fidelity, Isaac! Remember— Jeannemary had cried, at the last.
“Sorry for the wait,” said Teacher, handing her a mug of tea. “I have some bikkies as well, if you’d like.”
“Thank you, Teacher,” she said. “I’m afraid what I have to talk to you about has blunted my appetite.”
Abigail realizes she’s losing faith when confronted with the man who became God.
