It begins, as most things do, rather innocuously. With a phone call.
A phone call that shocks Francesca from her deep sleep, blinking confused and discombobulated in the dark.
She registers her phone ringing on her nightstand with a jolt, and crawls out of the warm nest of blankets, flinging an arm over and answering without even glancing at the caller ID. Her voice is hoarse, brimming over with sleep as she clears her throat and mutters, “Hello?”
“Frannie,” Michaela breathes on the other end.
All of a sudden Francesca’s wide awake.
Or: Michaela’s apartment floods. She moves in with Francesca until it gets fixed. And that should’ve been fine, right? “Suho.” Sieun’s tone was final. “I need to study, you need to leave right now.” It hurt. It really hurt to push him away. But this is Yeon Sieun. An emotionally drained, lifeless psycho with no feelings. He didn’t deserve happiness. Suho shouldn’t have to downgrade himself for someone like Sieun. He gripped his pen tight, wrist aching as he began writing notes off his presentation.
“Don’t do this right now. Don’t shut me ou-”
“Suho!” Sieun yelled. He wasn’t going to let Suho finish that sentence. His face shot up. “Leave.”
“Please”, Sieun whispered, voice trembling. He stared at Suho, eyes glossy and bloodshot red from lack of sleep. He swallowed hard, his dry throat stinging.
