Somehow, it clicks in that moment how strange it is. Tobio has never been a particularly physical person, although that might have been because nobody aside from his family has ever attempted to touch him casually. He doesn’t mind contact, but he rarely is the one to seek it. With Hinata, however, it’s different. With him, physicality becomes his default response, something he ends up doing without thinking, and it is weird how not-weird it feels.

Summary
It’s four in the morning when Kageyama’s phone goes off. He doesn’t have to look at the name to know who’s calling; he calls at around this time twice a month, and as always, Kageyama picks up. He knows he shouldn’t—he’s seeing someone and even if it’s not official yet, he needs to stop this and let go.
But when he opens his eyes and sees his and Hinata’s smiling faces staring back at him on his phone, his fingers ignore all the warning bells going off in his head and press the green button.

' "Here," Hinata says, grabbing a napkin.
"I can—I c-can—"
"I got it," Hinata tells him kindly. He reaches forward to dab at the man's streaming eyes, and the man sadly and defeatedly stuffs another chicken nugget into his mouth.
"Wh-why," he asks, cheeks filled with nugget, "are you b-being so n-nice to me?" He looks up at Hinata, then—that serious, yet oddly sweet face red and blotchy and a mess of tears.
"Because you're sad," Hinata says.'

Hinata only met Kageyama on the night shift at his job flipping burgers, but somehow, he still feels like he needs to make him a little less sad.

Summary
The student flats Tweek chose with his friends were in blocks stacked side by side, and his window had the scenic view of the building next door. At first he was a little put out; he didn’t really want to be stuck staring across at someone else’s window. At first.
He flinched away at first – the student was every bit of the kind of man his parents warned him away from, tattoos and a nasty attitude – but the desire to know more won out, and he felt somewhat safe in his room peeking through the curtains at the other man.
He was a lot more of a dork than Tweek expected.
