    Peter had made a number of mistakes in his life. Terrible, tragic mistakes, and all of them started and ended with Spider-Man. So he hung up the mantle and for five years, tried to think of anything but the gaping, Spider-Man-shaped hole in his life.

    For five years, alone in the worst of ways, he tried to exist only as Peter Parker.

    For five years, Peter Parker told himself that New York was better off without the Webbed Menace™️.

    And it worked! Peter may have been alone, but he wasn’t lonely. He wasn’t haunted by his failures. He was still helping people - doing Aunt May proud. He’d moved on. He was doing Fine.

    Until a failed kidnapping, a leather-clad mercenary, and a woman on the hunt for her long-lost brother drag Peter back into the familiar world of vigilante justice. And this time, Peter doubted the superhero life would let him go.
