Mars was the only destination that ever mattered to Emily. Every minute sacrificed for the past fifteen years was in pursuit of this, being named the first pilot to land on Martian soil.
Andy Sachs, renowned journalist and strong advocate against long-haul flights was not in Emily's plans. In fact, she was not even in NASA's plans to be apart of their five-crewed mission to Mars just nine months ago.
But where there was a desire to land, to build a base on a new planet, there was also the story behind it the world was dying to be told.
All Emily had to do, was survive a two-year long mission cohabiting with the one person that undermined her entire career trajectory. Easy enough, right?

On the 30th of August, Agent Kipling assembled a team.
On the 31st of August, said team travelled from Washington to New York City.
Which brings us, ultimately, to the 1st of September, and the events that unfolded today.
