The beginning of a brand-new school year arrives, and Scaramouche starts his sophomore year being greeted by some old friends and secrets. One of those secrets being that the fatui program he’s part of is inviting an additional member to join them, but nobody can tell him who it is. Even with the concern of a new person joining his small group, it was truly the least of his worries.
His ex, Dottore, is currently trying to rekindle their romance, His childhood friends Heizou and Kazuha seem to be getting along better without him, and his reputation as a track star may be at risk with the new season coming up. Summary
For some reason, Scaramouche felt the need to fix the way Childe’s shoulders were curled in and tense, to make his lifeless eyes look at him with his usual joy. Just this once, he told himself, setting his hand on his knee.
As if electrocuted, Childe jolted and turned back to him with wide, wary eyes. Why else would Scaramouche touch him if not to push him away?
“Scara,” the nickname slipped out of Childe before he could think of the repercussions. “Why…what are you doing?”
In other words: Childe appears at Scaramouche’s door in the dead of night, his eyes duller than usual, and Scaramouche can't help but let him in.
