Summary
The grass outside is still damp, covered in a layer of dew, a thin fog, combined with the rising sun, bathing the surroundings in an enchanting glow. Visible in the distance are the Hongyan mountains, their peaks covered in an everlasting layer of snow, enveloping them like a soft blanket.
Their daughter walks ahead of him, already on her way towards the stables. Xiao Changmei curiously peeks around the fences, looking out for a member from their herd of sheep that might’ve come out early to munch on the grass. Yet she can’t see far enough with her still short stature.
She isn’t a long way from him, Xiao Chiye reaches her side quickly and effortlessly picks her up by the waist, setting her down on his shoulders just as his father once did to him.
“Can you see them Mei’er? Now you’re even taller than your Diedie."
