Summary
Sirius and Remus’ relationship had been going strong for months and the pair were done with hiding. However, Sirius and Remus weren’t exactly the ideal couple for the first large scale coming out of Hogwarts. A half blood werewolf and a disowned black family heir would never be the most popular pair in the school.
Therefore the Plan: James and Regulus announce their (fake) relationship. If anyone kicked up a fuss about the two most influencial people in the school they would immediately be shut down by the rest of the student body and hopefully by the time Sirius and Remus come out later in the school year anyone remotely homophobic will have been bullied out of it.Or James and Regulus use this plan as essentially an excuse to kiss for the first time and nobody is surprised.
