Root works for The Machine and her next mission is to work undercover as the babysitter of Shaw’s kids while trying to discover what Sameen has on a company called Decima. Sameen Shaw is the director of the FBI field in New York City and is known for not trusting computers. She has two sons of age 8 and an adoptive daughter of age 13.

AU: Root and Shaw frequented the same high school as teens. But when they graduated, they went separate ways and never spoke again. Now, their old high school is throwing a 20 years reunion to open a time capsule they made in the 90s and Root wants the letter she put on the time capsule before her old school colleagues can read it. What she was not expecting, was seeing that Shaw had the same idea.
