    Castiel never expected to come back again. Not this time. When he does, it’s to a distraught Jack and a world without Dean Winchester. A world where the reason he gave his life is gone. Dean is dead, and maybe that wouldn’t be as hard to accept if Castiel weren’t trapped in a human existence and unable to go to him in heaven.

    Jack’s solution to that is…creative. A window to heaven seems unorthodox, but at least it allows him to see and talk to Dean while allowing Jack to keep the natural order of things in place. Not that being alive while Dean is not feels natural at all.

    For Dean, the windows are a way to still be there for his family even while he adjusts to life in heaven. The most challenging part of that? How to start a relationship from dimensions apart. Or if they even should?
