Summary
The first time the notion of a future with Jean popped into Mona's head – the thought of living together, shopping together, marriage – she'd squashed it immediately. The thought was ridiculous. Everything about her time with Jean had been ridiculous. A slim, fragile thread of fate had carried her to this absurd present where her life was intertwined with someone like Jean.
She would not dare test the strength of that thread by daydreaming of the future. The thread was so fragile, the path so narrow – what if Mona peeked, even accidentally? What if she tried to nudge their relationship in one direction or another, through even the most innocuous action, if she had even a subconscious sense of their destiny? The thought of crossing the stars and destroying what they had kept her awake, and she resolved to banish all thoughts of their future from her mind.
It was the only way to be safe.

Summary
In the few short months they'd spent together, Mona's ego had blown up like a slime balloon. It could not be helped! Master Jean seemed determined to note every idea, every insight or application of skill Mona displayed and express her admiration for each in turn. The problem only compounded as time passed – each instance of praise from the Grand Master turned Mona into a giddy idiot who only worked harder to impress.
But... it wasn't a huge deal, right? Why not appreciate the appreciation? It's not like the praise was unwarranted...
----
On a trip down the mountain, Mona's self-control falls to pieces around the Grand Master.

Summary
"It's not that it's _not_ a big deal, it's more like... it shouldn't be, right?" Annie swung towards them, sitting up, carefully transferring Winston to her lap. "I know your mom just slipped up. People forget new names all the time, and she's been calling me Ben for years." She studied Winston's belly, tracing little circles with her fingers. "It shouldn't upset me."
"Sure it should!" Steffi said. "She's rude! She should try harder! She sucks! I already said that!"
Annie shrugged, a small grin on her lips. "Maybe."
Techno leant against Steffi's desk. "Mrs Frohlich was probably just careless," she said, threading the needle between Steffi and Annie. "But it's okay to be bothered by that on its own. Unless... is there something else bothering you?"Annie shrugged again. "...maybe." The grin was gone.

Summary
An ongoing series about Jean Gunnhildr and Mona Megistus, how they bumped into each other, were drawn to one another and ended up in an odd little relationship.
Fics at the front end are chronological, anything at the back end tagged 'side story' is just fluff that can fit anywhere after the two of them started dating (spoilers I guess lol).
