Shouldn't he feel better if there's at least a good reason? But then, which would be the good reason—the benign one he loathes, or the dangerous one he fears and covets in equal measure? And what does it matter what he feels anyway, if he's helpless to do anything but bleed either way.
Amuro Ray is a grounded bird in a gilded cage, and he contemplates not much at all while he tries not to think about how much he's bleeding and how much it doesn't matter.

Summary
Of course Amuro letting Char convince him to go to space with him completely changes the story; the butterfly has flapped its wings, and the hurricane is coming. It might even fix two people who would otherwise go on to whip up their own storm and then die in it.
( It doesn't. A storm is a storm. How much does it matter what happens between squalls? )
This isn't really plot heavy, but a collection of snippets from a completely self-indulgent AU that lives in my brain. Basically character interactions that interest me plus enough plot to make it at all coherent what the context is without me probably burning out trying to write a well-paced narrative I am here for fun.

Summary
Char Aznable and Amuro Ray are grounded jaeger pilots who have been stranded outside the drift for months. Char is certain that despite their mutual animosity, they are the solution to each other's inability to find a copilot; Amuro remains unconvinced. But it doesn't make for a very good story if they never try, now does it.
