Summary

Shadow saw his purpose as the Ultimate Lifeform to be one of protection, emerging only when the world was in genuine danger. His promise to Maria and his own desire for peace fueled this decision, driving him to distance himself from the chaos.
However, Sonic the Hedgehog felt differently. He had scoured the world in search of his former rival, determined to reconnect with the enigmatic hedgehog. And after everything that had transpired during Shadow's absence, Sonic realized that Shadow might be the only one who could truly understand what he was going through. In the wake of recent events, the blue blur found himself in need of someone he could be candid with—someone who, like him, carried a certain weight forced upon their shoulders.
