Summary
Wei Wuxian grits his teeth, knowing he has no other choice. Not if it means Lan Zhan’s life. Besides, the Cloud Recesses has the best library and a long history of dealing with curses. It’s the most logical choice, even if he’d like to punch logic in the face right now.
“Wei Ying?” Lan Zhan asks.
He gives him a grim smile. “Looks like you’re finally getting your wish, Lan Zhan.”
Lan Zhan stares back at him, expression blank.
“I’m coming to Gusu with you.”
Or: Lan Wangji gets hit with a curse that requires Wei Wuxian to stay in close proximity at all times. Everything only gets more complicated from there.

He thinks of the many sect heirs and sons of nobility who have proposed marriage to him. And yet not one so far has seemed worth his while. Not one has brought forth a reaction greater than a shake of his head or a concise ’no’ when Lan Qiren has informed him of their interest.
Wei Wuxian is the only one to have caused such irritation.

Lan Wangji is aware what they call him—the cursed omega. Doomed from the start, a plague to enterprising alphas everywhere. He's been in mourning for three years, and good riddance, they say. No matter how beautiful he was, he wasn't worth the trouble.
Still. This is a matter of pride. If he's ever to move on, to find a new spouse, he must be able to please them. It would be uncouth to admit his lack of experience, given that he'd already been married once.
And so, he wanders to a brothel in a daze, entirely unsure what waits for him on the other side of the door.

He steps forward without even thinking. Mind devoid of anything, everything that is not the possibility that he is alive. That he is calling. Because there is nothing more that he wishes for, nothing else that matters than seeing the man that is his heart, his soul once more.
Or, Lan Wangji finds himself tracing clues that might lead to his lost Wei Ying, and he's transported to a future where he meets a very different version of his Wei Ying. One that can kill with a flip of his wrist, and wears skinny jeans.
