Today is their day.
They had waited until the day they would both be 18. When they could spend every moment together and make mistakes and be kids on their first day of adulthood. They would be spontaneous and meticulous, crazy and rational. They would live their first day of adulthood the way they wanted to live their entire lives: freely and together.
On Suguru’s 18th birthday, they would live life the way it was supposed to be.
Perhaps in another world, another life, it could be like this forever.

Summary
Maybe “good at communicating” isn’t the best way to word Satoru and Suguru’s odd dynamic. While they definitely were not laconic (they could afford to shut the fuck up once in a while), they did many things for each other without words. That’s the way they had always been. As weird as it may have seemed to others, those close to Satoru and Suguru recognized the air of comfortability and familiarity between the two. Later, arguably too much later, Shoko would realize that, to Satoru at least, Suguru felt like home.
The problem with unspoken communication is that it is unspoken. This seems obvious, but then again, Satoru and Suguru were not the best at love. Or whatever it was they had.
________________It's a shame, really. Because if there was one thing Shoko knew about those two dumbasses, it's that they would've given each other a second chance.
