Summary
It makes sense that he's been ensnared by the perfection of the Hollander-Rozanov's. They're a dream both on and off the ice; of course, it's completely, unfortunately, understandable that he's always sort of losing his mind around them, and having brief moments of insanity where instead of listening to them talk, he's besieged by imagining them ruining his life.
It's just one of those things he slowly has to work through; figuring out how to manage the seething heat of arousal, the glittering hunger that sits in his chest, the sly looks he would, and probably will still, steal, all under the banner of drawing inspiration, if anyone were to ask.
Which, thank god, no one has.
OR: Luca knows that this secret of his is going to be his downfall. One day he's going to call Ilya Rozanov Daddy, and he's never going to be the same.

Troy's new team hates him, and his new captain, Ilya Rozanov, has no interest in him. However, when Ilya realizes that Troy barely talks and has been struggling on the ice for weeks, he begins to investigate. But the more Ilya learns about Troy and the Toronto team, the worse it gets for Troy.

Bookmarker's Notes
God this fic is so good. Some top-tier angst, but not without comfort and a solidly happy ending.
Also a good exploration of the different ways abusive relationships, in all their different forms, can affect every part of your life and how you interact with people going forward. Healing isn’t linear, but it does happen.

Summary
Troy Barrett is traded to the Ottawa Centaurs after bringing up the assault allegations against Dallas Kent and attacking the star-centre at practice. After years of being treated poorly by the Toronto Guardians, he struggles to adapt to the Centaurs' more accepting nature. Over the course of his first year with the Centaurs, he faces repercussions for speaking out against Dallas, deals with threats from the league, navigates a whole new team that is primed to hate him, and faces several media scandals.
This is pre Troy/Harris, and Shane/Ilya is not mentioned, but I picture it being in the background.
