the younger man averted his eyes to the floor and let out a shaky breath

Summary
We were the opposite ends of a spectrum. Yet in that moment as we stared into each other's eyes, I swear I had never felt more connected to anyone else. Something about the way his bright eyes gazed into mine was strangely intimate and it made me wish I never had to look away. I never wanted that moment between us to end.
It was a foolish thought, of course, for all good things must come and go.
