Summary
When he looks up, both Liu Xiao and Vein are staring at him with something laden in their eyes he can’t pinpoint. But it’s the same, and the synchronicity in the shared gaze un-spools a cold curiosity in Xia Fei; the true nature of their expression, whether playful intrigue or a crueler, more carnivorous hunger is another question hanging in the air. The refusal sitting in the base of his throat falters. Xia Fei can’t find it in himself to say no.
“Fine then. Now, what kind of game is this anyway?"
Xia Fei agrees to play a game, loses a lot more than he bargained for and learns something along the way.
