“What… what the fuck.” Rin snarls.
Sae keeps scrolling.
He’s overreacting. You’ll be fine.
“You… how could you be so nonchalant about it!? You don’t even care, do you!?”
Rin’s voice was rising at a threatening pace, but Sae couldn’t bring himself to speak on it. He felt empty. Out of control. And, oh, it scared him to no end. But he knew if he looked up he’d break. Lash out at the world and everyone in it. Because this was unfair, and Sae just didn’t do unfair.
“Fucking hell Sae, maybe if you paid more attention you’d have noticed. But no. You’re too good for that, aren’t you?”
Ah. There it was. The insult that gutted Sae, made him jerk his head up, jaw clenched. Rin was staring right back, knowing he’d hit a nerve, probably revelling in the fact he could finally get his oh so stoic brother to look at him again.
Sae didn’t want to lash out.
But he couldn’t help it.
